7 years ago, I left Chicago, closed my stablished skin care studio, said good bye to my clients and moved to Canada and I had to wait 2 years for my Permanent Residency Card.
Knowing no one in this town, starting from zero, 3 years later I started again from my home and in December of 2019 I took the plunge and I opened an actual commercial location, only to be shut down in March of 2020 due to the pandemic.
I don't have a big team or staff working for me so I tend to wear all kinds of hats. Since I began my career in Esthetics in 2008, it's always been only me and one client at the time.
During what it seems like a never cycle of shutdowns for the past 2 years I have been fighting hard to keep my doors open, without any government assistance. Honestly, some days I feel it would be easy to just give up and throw in the towel.
But....
Yesterday I was given one of the highest business recognitions in Canada.
And I can't really express, how over the moon and grateful I am for such an amazing outpour of support from this amazing community I know call home.
My studio remains temporarily closed due to the Omicron wave, but I will continue to fight to keep my dream alive and I can't wait to get back to do what I was born to do.
Thank you so much KW.
